I was excited to read this headline in a House Natural Resources Committee press release: "House to Vote on American Energy Bills to Ease Pain at Pump, Create Jobs, Reduce Foreign Dependence". Wow! Since oil prices are set globally, I thought it must mean Congress is moving to help America reduce the role of oil in our economy in the long-term while figuring out how to get people to work without buying as much oil in the near-term.
